Participation to the World Social Forum 2011

Dakar (Senegal), February 2011

PNG The World Social Forum was launched in 2001 in Porto Alegre (Brazil), at the initiative of Chico Whitaker, among others. The Centre Lebret Irfed organized a workshop in 2004 in Mumbai (India) on the "Indicators of spiritual development”. Several members of the International Lebret Network regularly participate in the WSF editions.

In 2011, the Forum will be held in Dakar from February 6th to 11th; we will co-organize two workshops:

  • “Governance and Active Citizenship”
proposed for February 8, from 4-7 PM
  • “Ethics, Religion and Social Change”
co-organised with ENDA (Environmental Development Action in the Third World) and IFAPA (Interfaith Action for Peace in Africa)
    proposed for February 9, from 8:30 – 11:30

It will also be an opportunity to restart a regional dynamic in Africa, centered around the network’s Platform for human development and solidarity.
